The news of your death came as a rude shock to me. First, I thought I was dreaming or some kind of trance. Gradually it is becoming an endless dream. The memories are too pleasant to fade away. In Prof Olaleye I saw a real academic giant, a researcher to the the core. He is a real mentor. He never compromises on standard. Sitting with him and listening to him, you see Virology personified. As my PhD co-supervisor, I learnt a lot. There's no time you will meet him without learning a new thing. His wealth of knowledge and and experience are inexhaustible. I remember the task you gave me when I had the opportunity to attend the Joint National HIV drug Resistance and PCR Laboratories Summit in Lagos, Nigeria, January 2017. He said " Austin, we have trained you; go now and work to register your name". I promised to do just that. As you have gone to meet with your Creator, be rest assured that the legacies you left behind will speak for you. We love you but God certainly Love you more. Adieu Prof.
